Example franchises for E-2 investors
25 real U.S. franchises that citizens of treaty countries, Bulgaria included, often look at when planning an E-2 investment. Each shows the franchisor’s own published figures and where they come from.
How a franchise relates to the E-2 visa
A franchise comes with a known cost structure and published figures, which makes the investment and business plan easier to document. It does not make approval more likely on its own. We prepare the E-2 application forms, including the DS-160 and DS-156E, and the supporting document list.
- E-2 is for citizens of treaty countries who invest in a U.S. business and actively run it. Bulgaria is a treaty country.
- There is no fixed minimum. The investment has to be substantial for the type of business, already committed and at risk.
- The business has to be more than marginal: expected to do more than support your own family, usually by hiring U.S. workers.
- E-2 is temporary and renewable. It is not a green card.
